Last week we began our series of football betting articles on the different football handicapping styles most professional sports handicappers use in their handicapping methods. We started with our football betting trends method, and this week, we’ll go over football betting systems, and once again highlight the differences between betting trends and betting systems.
In our last football betting article, we highlighted the differences between football betting trends and football betting systems.
While football trends show betting information about a particular team in any given situation, a betting system is “league-inclusive”, meaning a betting situation would apply to any team.
Many football handicappers use football betting systems in their football handicapping, and some even rely solely on these football systems.
The benefits of using football systems include relying on historical references to back up a selection or play. Using football systems also take any bias out of a selection, whether it be coming from public perception, media, or even a handicapper’s favorite team.
And while football betting systems are heavily relied upon, some sports handicappers will stay away from some particular systems, as they may believe there are overriding circumstances that can’t be ignored (for instance, an injury to the quarterback, or a team resting starters in the last week of the season).
The benefits of using football betting system greatly outweigh any potential side effects, and with information being more and more readily accessible with the internet over the last five years, it isn’t hard to find any statistic imaginable.
Whether or not you personally use football betting systems in your own football handicapping, it is one of the main staples used by professional football handicappers today.
