Another day is over in the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine. Today is the last day for any NFL hopeful to show their stuff and to see if they can make it in the big league! Let’s take a look to see how players did last Sunday with our 2018 NFL Scouting Combine update.
The NFL Scouting Combine is a chance for players to show off their talents to scouts and NFL executives. Yesterday was a banner day for the front seven. Some players stood out more than others while other just crashed and burned.
The event consists of over 300 players going thru a series of drills, tests and interview to see if they have what it takes to make it to the NFL. For any NFL hopefuls, this is a major job interview.
Let’s take a look at some of the best and worst prospects so far.
Griffin is a linebacker for the University of Central Florida who has a solid reputation. The man can move and showed what he is made of with a 9’9” broad jump, 20 reps bench press and a 4.38 second 40-year dash.
We expect to see him as a first class choice for the NFL draft.
Davenport came to the NFL Scouting Combine as one of the top players. His workout did not disappoint anyone and already has the NFL buzzing with excitement.
He hails out of the University of Texas where he plays an edge rusher and defensive end. The 6’5” 264 pound can boast being the C-USA’s defensive player of the year. He did 22 bench press reps, and did the 40 yards dash in 4.58 seconds and the 10-yard split in 1.63 seconds.
Bryan is a 6’5”defensive lineman for Florida that has excelled on the field during his college years. He made quite a performance last Sunday in terms of athleticism and personality. He has often been compared to J.J. Watt throughout his career and performed admirably.
He currently ranks number six amongst defensive linemen and did 30 bench press reps, the 40-yard dash in 4.98 seconds and the 3-cone drill in 7.12 seconds.
Vander Esch is a standout amongst the other linebackers. Weighing in at 256 pound and standing at 6’2” he is a force to be reckoned with. The former Boise Star football star did great during his workout routine. He had a 39.5 inch vertical and did the 3-cone drill in 6.88 seconds.
They were several more winners in last Sunday’s NFL Scouting Combine but too many to list. We certainly hope to see them next NFL season as they will certainly be a nice addition to any NFL teams. Several sportsbook software providers are already setting odds on the outcome!
