Young and Bamba to enter the NBA Draft

Bamba to enter the NBA DraftThe dream of many college basketball players is to become a professional basketball player.  Most will wait until after they graduate from college before deciding to join the NBA.  However, this is not the case for Trey Young and Mohamed Bamba. Both players have recently made their own announcement that they would enter the NBA draft in June.

This year, the NBA Draft will take place on June 21, 2018 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.  This is when several basketball hopefuls will try to get picked up by an NBA team.

As the end of March Madness approaches, this is when college basketball prospects make their decisions to join the NBA draft or not. In most cases, most first-round picks will declare for the draft.

Curry Wins NBA MVP Again

Curry Wins NBA MVP AgainOnce again Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors is in the news and this time it is because he has officially earned his second consecutive Most Valuable Player awards in a row from the NBA.  The award is to be announced officially later this week and Curry fans can’t wait for it.

During the 2014-2015 NBA season, Curry blew the competition out of the water including a three-point league record but during the 2015-2016 season, he outdid himself breaking that record with a huge 402 treys.

In addition, he has led the league for overall scoring averaging 30 points per game and also having an average of 7 assists and over 5 rebounds per game.  Needless to say these records are not paled by him shooting 50% overall, 45% from the three point line and 91% from the free throw line.

The LA Lakers Looking for a New Head Coach

The LA Lakers Looking for a New Head CoachOnce again the Los Angeles Lakers are in need of a new head coach after Byron Scott was fired after the team decided to not exercise the option to keep him on for the 2017-16 NBA season.

Last Sunday, the official announcement was made by Mitch Kupchak, the General Managers of the Lakers that he would not be back as the head coach and thanking him for his work with the team.

For those who remember, two years ago Scott was hired to manage the final years of Kobe Bryant with the Lakers.  Even Scott did well handling Kobe, he had been criticized for not working enough with the new talent the team brought in.

The Lakers have not made the playoffs for the last three seasons despite being once one of the top NBA franchise.
