The top two teams in the MLS Western Division meet Friday night in the first game after the Orlando tournament as first place Sporting KC travel to second place Minnesota United.
These teams met in a thrilling group game last month in Orlando with Minnesota United erasing a 1-0 deficit with two goals in stoppage time to win 2-1 after Sporting KC goalie Tim Melia was sent off. Friday night’s game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET at Allianz Field in St. Paul on ESPN+.
These teams have met nine times in MLS games and twice in the US Open Cup since Minnesota United joined the league in 2017. In the MLS games Sporting KC has four wins while Minnesota United has three and there have been two draws. Both teams have won a fourth round US Open Cup game with SKC winning in 2017 and MUNFC winning last year at home.
Philadelphia 76ers star guard Ben Simmons will leave the NBA bubble at Walt Disney World in Orlando to have surgery on his injured knee.
Simmons went to the locker room on the August 5th game against the Wizards midway through the third quarter because of an injury that was diagnosed as a subluxation of the left knee cap.
The Sixers sent the following statement:
“After consultation with the 76ers medical staff and several specialists, Ben Simmons will undergo surgery in the coming days to remove a loose body in his left knee.”
The 76ers are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference and they would likely face the Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.
NBA’s 2019-2020 season has restarted after 141 days of forced stop due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and it’s causing many reactions since day 1. Utah Jazz and New Orleans Pelicans squared up for the first ever NBA game in Disney, and the Jazz came up with the big win in the end.
It was a good game to watch, we had been waiting for that for a long time, fans and bookies, we were all equally happy to see the NBA coming back and even more after confirming the news that there were zero Covid-19 cases inside the bubble after the last couple of testing rounds, which of course means that everything is going as planned and we’ll hopefully be able to see the season ending we were all waiting for.
However, if you watched the game, you probably noticed that New Orleans Pelicans favorite and newest superstar, Zion Williamson, wasn’t allowed to contribute too much for his team, as he was limited to 15 minutes of play only. Now, remember that Zion missed the first 43 games of the season due to injury and he came back in late January and played 19 games before the season stopped.
The MLB will be putting us through a fast-paced season. Each of the 30 teams in the league will only have 60 games to play to qualify for the postseason. And many sportsbook pay per head bookies are getting ready for the season to begin. Keep in mind that all of these games will be played without fans watching live. Travel will be limited, and venues are different than usual. With all these changes, its bound to be one of the most exciting seasons we will be seeing in baseball, and in sports betting news.
Of course, when offering lines on the MLB through the likes of Discount Pay Per Head, it helps to keep an eye out on the changes that will happen in the league. Granted, your provider will be handling the bulk of the work- especially with odds. But line movement may be more exciting this season, so its best to keep an eye out for news, especially with some of the most popular teams in the league.
Sports Betting will be available in Virginia pretty soon, assuming that the regulations that the Virginia Lottery will set will be approved. The regulatory and implementing office has a draft of rules and regulations which will be open for public comments. This means that any resident can go to the town hall website and leave their feedback for the next 60 days.
While a simple “yes” or “no” is what most people expect the government to do, there are a lot of details that need to be finalized. We at Bet Sports Online cover a lot of gambling industry news that touches on these details. In this case, the website of the Virginia Lottery will have information on the voluntary exclusion program, a consumer protection program, as well as the whole process for applications for permits. There is also a draft on sports betting regulations.
Online sports betting has been around for a long time, but the industry experienced a surge in popularity. The coronavirus pandemic is keeping people home. Therefore, bettors are looking at online sports betting software sites as a venue for them to place bets. And since sports leagues are slowly resuming their games, there is a lot that people can bet on. For states, they see this as an opportunity to raise money to deal with rising fiscal deficits.
Not all states allow for online sports betting. Some, like Rhode Island, do allow for online sportsbooks, but require people to go to a retail gambling shop to register before they consider placing bets online. And if you know how to run a sportsbook, you know that these policies are very limiting, and can hinder people from joining that particular sportsbook.
